The Beijing Olympic Village has a construction area of 550,000 square meters. The project was started on July 28, 2005 and was finished on April 29, 2008. At the decisive stage in 2008 the Beijing Urban Construction Group further strengthened the management of regional contractors in the way that construction organization and administration for every single building was allocated to a principal of the respective construction company. Contracts were signed with each responsible principal of the respective construction company for the detailed schedule of the finalization of the project. The Beijing Olympic Village was inspected by the four parties on April 29 and the Inspection Certificate was issued. The village was then officially delivered to BOCOG for test operation.
