BUCG stand out from other competitors by winning the bid for two major projects in Beijing and Liaoning province. BUCG Engineering Department was the successful bidder for Beijing IKEA shopping center phase II while BUCG Civil Works Department for International Conference Center of Liaoning province.

Funded by Sweden IKEA group, Beijing IKEA shopping center phase II will be located on Xinghua Avenue, Hongmen town of Daxing District. It is estimated to cover 80286㎡ with total structural area up to 509186㎡connecting Hongmen station of Daxing line (subway line 4). It is expected to be, after putting into use, a new landmark shopping mall offering various services such as supermarkets, cinemas, shopping stores and electrical stores service. According to its slogan “ Creating a better everyday life at home”, this center will be characterized by typical Northern Europe design style- natural, simple and environmental-friendly and is expected to become the most appealing shopping center in Beijing.

When it comes to construction method, its foundation structure should be foundation beam and waterproof board while its main structure should be built of reinforced concrete in frame construction. As to roof engineering, concrete and steel structure will be adopted. This project is planned to be executed on 23th December 2011 and completed on 31th August 2014.

Considering the complexity of construction and limited construction period, a group of experts with rich experience in major civil works engineering will be organized to ensure the successful completion of the project.

Liaoning international conference center is located in QiPan Mountain which is regarded as an important part of the 12th national games venues as well as an important carrier and platform enabling Liaoning province to positively involve in international cooperation. It is expected to be, after completion, an integrated first-class center with the international conference center, sports venues, hot spring resort and shopping stores, which will be provide various services for the 12th National Games.(Shi Jinliang)
