On the 12th of January, 2012, with a difference of -0.18% to the Composite target bid price made by the tender office of the Ministry of Commerce, the Overseas Business Department has won the award for the construction of the new premises of the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of PRC in Indonesia. This is the second Economic and Commercial Counselor’s office project contract won by the Overseas Business Department.
This project is located in the core prime area in southern Jakarta, capital of the Republic of Indonesia. The contract value is USD 5,350,000, with a land area of 3376.7㎡, including the office building, apartment building and gate house. We’ll regard this project as an opportunity to develop more quickly a close relationship with the embassies and the consulates as well as the local authorities, to get to know the local market in order to lay the foundation for obtaining larger projects in this country and this region.
Indonesia, being a Southeast Asian country with the largest area and population of that region, has close political and economical ties with China. It is also one of the countries in this region which receives the most aids from China in regard of preferential loans and preferential buyer’s credits. Based on the marketing ideas: to enter the market by focusing on low-risk and low-cost projects like the economic aid projects and embassy premises projects, which were proposed by BUCG’s international strategies, the Overseas Business Department paid high attention to the bidding, and arranged our design, material, technical, and marketing staff to visit the site for investigation and collecting project data. Then after careful study of all the information and after full preparation we submitted our offer and finally we achieved our goal by -0.8% difference to the target price.
This is a seasonal success, which greatly encouraged all of our employees in the development of BUCG’s overseas business.(Qu Jinhong)
