As a representative of large state-owned real estate company of Beijing Municipality, Beijing Urban Construction Group (BUCG) participated in the construction of the first affordable houses in Beijing in the nineties of last century, and now it is playing a leading role in the development of the affordable housing. So far such houses built by BUCG as well as its subsidiaries in Beijing with an area exceeding 2,300,000.00 square meters, BUCG has provided more than 20000 quality houses to families with middle or low incomes.
As a leading enterprise in the construction industry of Beijing Municipality, BUCG has concentrated more on undertaking to share social responsibility with the government, and has successively developed and constructed housing projects like Electronic City, Dingxiuxinyuan, and Dingfujiayuan, such affordable houses, and also some low-income and low-rent housing like Fulinjiayuan, Dongba, Wangtan, Donganhuayuan, Xiyueju, Shihuabojun, Zhunianhua and Changyangji. BUCG has been making constant contributions in meeting the requirements for creating proper profits for the government, and at the same time it has initiatively taken social responsibilities and made it the motive power in the development of the enterprise. The stock company under BUCG has invested hundreds of millions for Xiyueju, a capped-price housing project located in Changyangzhen, Fangshan District, Beijing. It is under construction, with 1828 apartments and an area of about 160,000 square meters that is conveying a lucky message to the civilians who are living in the west of Beijing. BUCG Real Estate Development Company commenced the execution of Dongba project in September, 2011, which has an area of 350,000 square meters and will provide 3400 affordable houses. Beijing urban construction group also made full use of its resources advantage to share government’s worries, to help the disadvantaged groups in their difficulties. BUCG has prepared 8 pieces of self-owned lands with a planned area of 1.39 million square meters to be submitted to the government for approval. These lands will be used for development and construction affordable housing and public rental rooms
At the same time, Beijing urban construction group also uses the advantages of state-owned enterprises to assemble and mobilize member companies to actively participate in construction of affordable houses of Beijing municipality. BUCG’s project general contracting department, BUCG construction, BUCG Yuandong company, BUCG No1, 2, 5, and 10 construction companies…have undertaken the construction of more than 20 affordable housing projects.(Qu Jinhong)
