Outstanding Achievements in Construction and Finance
In 2011，BUCG completed a turnover of RMB 53.7 billion，exceeding 50 billion for the first time with a revenue increase of 24% ；achieved an output of 48.5 billion with a revenue increase of 24.6% ；commenced an construction area of 30.72 million m2 with increase of 18%. Meanwhile compared to 2010, BUCG made big increase in business income and total profits. Under the situation of continuous macroeconomic control, BUCG still achieved 30.9 billion of business income last year, exceeding 30.00 billion for the first time, with a profit of 1.61billion and profit growth of 100 million.
Achievements in Marketing Management
In 2011 the total marketing achievement was of 62.00 billion, jumping over the two thresholds of 50.00 and 60.00 billion, a growth of 35% from the previous year, which of the main business exceeded 50.00 billion and 57% came from Beijing marketing. Inter-Ikea shopping centre, package 07 of metro line 8, Shengjing performance centre in Shenyang, underground infrastructure in CBD core area, and Chongqing Shangxin International are all newly awarded works, each with a contract value of more than 500 million.
Employees Interests Well Maintained and Protected
In 2011 BUCG standardized the monthly income for employees of the wholly owned subsidiaries and holding subsidiaries, and mainly raised monthly minimum basic income for college graduates and those transferred to BUCG in 1983, and supplemented the salary payment manner and improved the living standard of the staff. In 2011 the increase per capita was RMB 1200, 12.9% of increase from the previous year. Now, the salary per capita within BUCG has reached RMB 63000.
The “Bird Nest” Won Ugo Guerrera Prize
On July 5, 2011 the International Institute of Welding (IIW) awarded the UGO GRERRERE PRIZE of 2010 to the National Stadium (bird nest) steel structure welding team; it was the first time that a Chinese company won the honor and it was the highest award established by IIW. In 2011 BUCG came to the 189th of the top 500 Chinese enterprises and 4th of the top 100 Chinese construction firms; in 2011 BUCG won 2 Luban Prize and 1 Zhan Tianyou prize.
Rebuilding Projects Accomplished with Satisfactory Results
In 2011 BUCG undertook the tasks designated by Beijing Municipality and Beijing SASAC for rebuilding, such as Yushu of Qinghai and Hetian of Xinjian, both destroyed in natural disasters. Now the No. 9 phase I of shantytown rehabilitation in Hetian, Xinjian has been handed over; the roofing works of Jinhe Building has been completed on schedule; in Yushu, 12 projects including Batang road and Yushu hydrological bureau have met the targets, so BUCG is highly praised by the state leaders as well as the local authorities for their fulfillment of the state-owned company’s social responsibilities.
Social Responsibilities Represented in Low-income Housing
By the end of 2011, BUCG’s real estate developed more than 2.30 million square meters of low-income housing; Xiyueju affordable housing in Changyang County, Fangshan district and Dongba low-income housing in Chaoyang district are under construction now. In 2011 BUCG’s practice in real estate development ranked number one among construction corporations at the provincial and municipal level. BUCG’s real estate with a brand value of 4.6 billion yuan won China real estate brand TOP10 for 8 consecutive years.

Design Consultation Retaining the Leading Position
Design consultation has been playing further the leading role and increasing its market share. The newly signed contract value over the year reached 1.2 billion yuan with an output of 1.05 billion. In 2011 BUCG design research institute won the contract for the design of Shijiazhuang metro engineering which was the metro contract of the highest value obtained so far. This year the institute set up the first research and development centre and provides a strong support to BUCG’s scientific and technical improvement.

Under the Guidance of the “Going Out” Strategy, Important Breakthrough Made in Overseas Business
While strengthening the existing market shares in Sierra Leone, Qatar, Mozambique and Viet Nam, BUCG have been actively engaged in foreign-aid projects of the Ministry of Commerce. In 2011, BUCG jointly participated in Penang project, Malaysia, which has been officially included in China-Malaysia cooperation framework agreement, and successfully tried to develop concessional loan project in the target market for the first time. Furthermore, Maputo natural gas pipeline distribution in Mozambique was won with a contract price of USD 280 million.

Full Variety of Activities in Celebration of the Party’s 90th Anniversary
At the time of the Party’s 90th anniversary, BUCG carried out a variety of activities to commemorate the historic day. Educational activities themed “Study the history of the Party, and strengthen the belief in the Party” were held all over BUCG. Employees got together in learning the history of the Party, and they wrote articles and participated speech contests to express their convictions in and love for the Party. Singing contests were also held by the staff to commemorate the 90th anniversary. A series of articles for commemoration were published in Beijing Daily, Capital Construction News and BUCG News. In 2011 BUCG was named the “Advanced Collective of Beijing in Commemoration Propaganda of the Party’s 90th Anniversary” by Beijing Municipal Propaganda Department.

Informatization Propelling the Realization of Scientific Management
In 2011, BUCG passed the site verification by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of information management in special grade enterprises. BUCG have primarily realized information data web-based service in daily project management. The web portal was revised and reopened to the public at the beginning or 2011. Timely renewing of all contents became possible and visitors exceeded 300,000 person/time within one year. This indicated that the web portal was becoming more and more powerful, which played an important role in further promoting BUCG’s brand influence. BUCG’s website has also won the name of “Jingpin Website” in the national construction sector website campaign organized by China Construction Association.
