Recognized by the editorial committee, 66 projects of BUCG have been selected for 《Urban Construction Chorography》.It is understood that the 《Urban Construction Chorography》,compiled by Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, mainly focuses on major and influential construction products in Beijing between 1991 and 2010, which include buildings for public and civil uses, and municipal works. Projects made by BUCG during the period, in additional to several major Olympic works, include such key public construction projects as Beijing Yintai Center, National Grand Theater of China, both medical and surgical buildings of 301 Military Hospital, Second-phase Apartment of Beijing Hotel and Central International Trade Center, The projects also contain people’s livelihood works like Xihuang Village economically affordable housing, Niujie old and dilapidated housing renewal works and Xiaoying Century Village project. In the mean time, BUCG made municipal works including Beijing Water Nine Plant, Fenzhongsi Water Plant Wukesong-Yuquan Road Thermal Engineering, as well as Laoshan Bicycle Moto Cross (BMX) Venue, the Olympic Games beach volleyball court and other Olympic projects, which have been dismantled now. For such construction projects as the subway projects, and the loop and expressway works, in which BUCG participated while not involved in as main contractors, they could not be classified under the name of BUCG group. The 66 works were selected by Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development from over 100 projects applied for by BUCG, and the number of selected come out top among the construction enterprises in Beijing, which shows BUCG’s strong momentum of prosperous and leap-forward development during the past two decades.
BUCG has undertaken a large amount of key works and influential projects in Beijing during the past 20 years. A large number of employees have made great contribution to the construction and development of BUCG, in this sense they are creators of the history of municipal development. (Chen Xin)
