The Kunming Changshui International Airport, which is constructed by BUCG, is currently in its phase out period of mechanical and electrical adjustment, and will be accomplished and ready to be put into use by the end of this May as planned. Based on the official document, this project is scheduled as the key project of “National Eleventh Five-year Plan”, one of the top 20 key projects in Yunnan province and the heavy urban infrastructure construction of Kunming City. Following with Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai international hub-airport, it will develop to be the fourth international hub-airport by covering the Southeast Asia and South Asia areas and connecting Europe and Asia in long term after its accomplishment.

The new Kunming Airport is 6.6km from the Kunming suburb. The terminal is 850 meters long from north to south and 1120 meters wide from east to west, and the main building is 4 floors over-ground locally and 3 floors underground with the total construction area of 548,300 square meters. The plan for this new airport takes 2020 as it target year for an annual capacity of 38 million passengers. The construction includes following five parts: south main building, west, east, central and north ‘Y’ shape great corridor.

According to the official data, this project is another heave civil aviation airport project which is constructed by BUCG after the Terminal 3 of Beijing Capital International Airport, Jiangxi Nanchang Changbei Airport and etc..
