BUCG has achieved a large number of core technologies with competitive advantages in construction areas like stadiums, airport terminals, theaters, museums, high-rise buildings, metro rail projects, roads and bridges, municipal utilities, traditional gardens, and garden afforestation, and in professional areas like mechanical and electrical installation, large-span steel structural projects, deep foundation projects, reverse construction, shield construction, manufacture of precast elements and ready-mixed concrete. Some of these have already reached the leading level in the world.

Comprehensive technologies in modern stadium projects
Getting the chance of high-tech Olympics, 41 Olympic and their supporting projects, representing by the National Stadium, offer a large stage for BUCG. Some advanced stadium construction achievements like Key technical research and application in the National Stadium steel structural project, Construction technical research of the National Indoor Stadium bi-directional string structure, and Key technical research on Beijing Olympic Basketball Gymnasium project, won provincial prize for progress in science and technology, and became BUCG’s core technologies in stadium construction area. Depending on these technologies, BUCG obtained 4 China Luban Prizes, 3 China Civil Engineering Zhan Tianyou Prizes, and 3 projects were titled with National construction demonstration projects in new technology application. After that, BUCG undertook the construction of more than 20 stadiums, like Qingdao Yizhong Stadium, Jinan Stadium, Jinin Cultural Sport Center, Guangzhou Sports Performing Center, Jiangyin Stadium, Putian Stadium, Chengdu University of Finance and Economics Stadium.

Comprehensive technologies in modern airport terminal projects
Airport Terminal 2 of Beijing Capital International Airport is the first airport terminal which was constructed by BUCG. Comprehensive construction technologies of modern airport terminal learning from it were applied, improved and developed into the project of airport Terminal 3, and greatly support the projects of contracting Zhengzhou new Airport, Xinin Airport, Nanchang Changbei Airport, and Kunming Airport. BUCG won 3 China Luban Prizes, 2 National construction demonstration projects in new technology application, 1 China Civil Engineering Zhan Tianyou Prize, and 3 provincial prizes for progress in science and technology, and developed core technologies with obvious competitive advantage.

Comprehensive technologies in modern large-scaled theater projects
National Grand Theater is the largest theater in China. Aiming at different key process, BUCG did a lot of researches to solve many construction problems. Some subjects like Construction technical research on National Grand Theater foundation pit project, Key technology research on National Grand Theater Project obtained Beijing science and technology progress prize, China Luban Prize, China Civil Engineering Zhan Tianyou Prize and the title of National construction demonstration project in new technology application. It makes BUCG take high advantage in theater construction, and set firm technical support to contract many theater projects such as Ji’an Cultural Center, Handan Cultural and Artistic Center, Ninxia Theater, and Xuzhou Concert Hall.

Comprehensive technologies in large-scaled museum projects
Engineers and technicians from BUCG overcame a large number of technical problems in National Museum Expansion Project, and summed up Complete techniques in construction of large-scaled museum, which laid a solid foundation for museum projects such as Qufu Cultural Center, Jiangxi Natural Science Museum, Ji’an Cultural Center, Handan Cultural and Artistic Center.

Comprehensive technologies in high-rise building projects
Beijing Yintai Center is the first high-rise building project undertaking by BUCG. Technical research and application to high-rise steel tube-in-tube structure construction of Beijing Yintai Center won the Beijing science and technology progress prize, obtained the title of National construction demonstration project in new technology application, and afterwards take the shape of BUCG’s complete techniques in steel structural high-rise building. With the support of these techniques, BUCG successively contracted a lot of high-rise buildings with high tech, as Nanjing International Mall, CCTV Cultural Arts Center, Nanjing Deji Plaza, Zhenjiang Broadcasting and Television Center, Hefei Financial and Trade Center, Hangzhou Asian Packaging Mansion, Xi’an Qujiang Cultural Center Originality Mansion.

Comprehensive technologies in urban rail transit
BUCG is the leader in construction of China urban rail transit. It presided to draw up Chinese first subway construction specification, and has dominant position in this field. The test section of Beijing Subway Line 5 is the first time to bring shield method into Beijing subway construction. The design and construction technical research of shield tunnel in Beijing Subway Line 5 achieved Beijing science and technology progress prize. BUCG not only shares high proportion in Beijing market, but also has projects spread over Beijing, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Dalian, Zhengzhou, and some other cities. Beijing Yizhuang Line, which applies nearly all kinds of engineering methods from the ground to underground, is the first BT project of BUCG in rail transportation construction. Some of the technologies like Ultra-small radius of shield construction, Suspended casting and rotation construction in cross-high-speed bridge, 400-ton beam erection packaged technology, and Control technology to cross existing line (or high-speed) fill in gaps in China.

Comprehensive technologies in highway and bridge projects
BUCG follows up advanced technology in road and bridge construction and has already gain the ability to construct steel arch bridge, suspension bridge, cable-stayed bridge and high pier bridge, and a series construction technologies like cantilever, rotation, thrusting, and mechanized bridge erection. A large number of typical transportation landmarks such as Changping Nanhuan Bridge, Yongdingmen Square, Jinin Canal Viaduct, Shijiazhuang Yuhua Sports Avenue Overpass, Caofeidian Nachaohe River Bridge, and Qian’an Luanhe River Bridge were constructed successively. Moreover, BUCG also participated in road construction of the Fifth Ring Road and the Sixth Ring Road in Beijing, Jingcheng Expressway, and other highways in Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Henan, Jiangxi, Shandong and Hebei.

Comprehensive technologies in municipal projects
BUCG has undertook a lot of large municipal projects in different areas, like the Ninth Water Source Factory, Xi’an Water Plant, Nanchang Sewage Treatment Plant, Natural Gas Projects consisting more than 100km pipeline and tens of terminals and regulator stations, municipal thermal power engineerings such as heating exterior lines in the west of Gongzhufen, Zhengchangzhuang Power Plant, and Nongzhan Nanlu Street, and power transformer substations like 110kv Taowa, 220kv Jundu, and 110kv Manjing, and formed technical advantages in these areas. Among them, Construction technologies of process pipe blasting purge and pneumatic test of hyper pressure gas station wins national method, Construction process standardization of urban gas transmission and distribution projects (CJYTQB001-2006) fills the blank of process standardization in gas industry.

Comprehensive technologies in ancient landscape architecture projects
BUCG owns the earliest domestic construction units in ancient landscape architecture, and successively undertook a lot of remedial and rehabilitation works of ancient buildings such as the Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, the Forbidden City, Heduanmen of Tian An Men, Qianmen and Zhengyangmen, Ming Tombs, Temple of Azure Clouds in the Fragrant Hills, protection and regulation of Qianmen Street, Chengde Imperial Summer Resort, Shanhai Pass towers, Nanjing City Wall, Guiyang Confucious’ temple, and Chongqing Great Auditorium of the People, and gained the contract to build antique architectures like the provincial discussion building for Party School of the CPC Central Committee, the 18th building of Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, Beijing Garden of 99 Kunming International Horticultural Exposition, Tonghe Garden of 2008 China International Garden and Flower Exposition. In addition, BUCG won more than 20 national and provincial prizes. The new method of joint wooden pier in heritage buildings which was applied in remedial projects like the Tian'anmen Rostrum has been tested for nearly ten years. Long-term practice helps to accumulate wealthy construction experience and set of proprietary technologies, to cultivate a large number of professional technicians, and to carry forward traditional remedial techniques of ancient architecture and garden art. Therefore, unique competitive advantages in maintenance to protect ancient buildings, preservation of modern cultural architecture, antique architecture, and garden buildings have been formed.

Comprehensive technologies in garden afforestation and plants cultivating projects.
Since the 1950s, BUCG undertook a large number of China and Beijing major garden afforestation projects and indoor and outdoor landscaping design and construction of major activities. Environmental landscaping project in Tian’ anmen zone, Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, and Chang’an Avenue, Qiansanmen Street, the Second, Third and Forth Ring Road, Beijing Olympic Forest Park, China Millennium Monument, National Grand Theater, and National Stadium are successfully achieved. Projects spread all over 18 provinces. In 2008, BUCG successfully fulfilled the key task of flower arrangement during the Beijing Olympic Games. The two Beijing local standards, Main levels of flower beds and flowering plants and Technical rule for the arrangement of open field flowers, were composed; moreover, the Comprehensive technical research about the flowers introduction and produce application of Beijing Olympic, which gained the first prize of Beijing agricultural technology promotion, filled the domestic blank in this area.
