The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China (MOHURD) has recently ratified qualifications for construction enterprises. BUCG has been successfully ratified and granted the Special-Grade General Contracting Qualification for Construction of Home-Building Projects, the Special-Grade General Contracting Qualification for Construction of Highway Engineering projects, and the A-Grade Design Qualification for Building Engineering.

According to MOHURD’s announcement, there are only 8 enterprises that obtain two Special-grade general contracting qualifications, 6 of which are enterprises directly controlled by the central government. Among the 163 enterprises with Special-Grade General Contracting Qualification for Construction of Home-Building Projects, 71 of them obtained the design qualifications at the same time, while only 3 enterprises was granted the A-Grade Design Qualification for Building Engineering. BUCG has done an excellent job in MOHURD’s qualifications ratification for construction enterprises.

The new standards for special-grade qualifications emphasize the credit capacity, major management personnel and professional technical personnel, technology development and project references of the enterprises. Through corporation with the Ministry of Transport and other professional Ministries, MOHURD granted the enterprises relevant qualifications after a thorough examination of the written material submitted and conducting on-the-spot Investigations. The scope of works BUCG is entitled to carry out includes general contracting for construction of home-building, highways, subways, municipal public projects, and harbor and waterway engineering, general contracting, project management service, and design service with regard to building engineering and its auxiliary projects. BUCG is one of the enterprises that enjoy the widest scope of allowable works in the 249 enterprises with special-grade qualifications.

Since BUCG launched work of applying for special-grade qualifications in 2008 and submitted formal application early in 2011, a large amount of work has been done by relevant departments under the proper leadership of BUCG’s leadership group.
