On January 23rd 2013, Southern Mozambique was hit by devastating floods. After receiving the flood warning, the Project Operation Department of BUCG constructed Chokwe Large-Scale Cold Storage and Agricultural Products Processing Centre Project reported to the company head quarter in China immediately. As instructed by the company head quarter, BUCG’s Project Operation Department in Mozambique took measures not only to protect its employees and materials on the site, but also to help local residents overcome difficulties. On top of offering necessary help in transporting people and materials, BUCG also shared 62 cubic meter drinking water to the sufferers, which has benefited more than 1000 local families.
On February 6th, a donation activity was organized together by BUCG, the Project Employer and Chokwe Government. Donations offered by BUCG include 300 pieces of T-shirt, 100 pieces of jacket and 100 sets of stationery and schoolbag. BUCG’s relief efforts in fighting against the disaster were highly appreciated by the local government and local residents. (Liang Xingbo)
