After redecoration, Bintumai Hotel held an reopening ceremony on February 16, 2016. President of Sierra Leone Ernest Bai Koroma, Vice president and his wife, Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone Yanbo Zhao and more than 300 experts and guests from the local news media attended the ceremony. President Ernest Bai Koroma unveiled the plaque for the reopening of the hotel, and accompanied by the manager of hotel Wenguo Zhang, visited the redecorated guest rooms.
