On July 31, the one-off land tendering project of the first shanty town reconstruction in Beijing in which the development company acts as the implementation subject, the resettlement housing engineering of the shanty town reconstruction project on West Xiaotun Road was formally commenced. Relevant leaders from the Housing Construction Commission of Fengtai District, Lugouqiao Sub-district Office and the district expropriation center, Deputy General Manager of BUCG Wang Zhiwen, General Manager of the development company Shi Zan et al. attended the commencement ceremony.

The resettlement housing engineering of the shanty town reconstruction project in Xiaotun covers a total building area of 14.69m², and there are 1223 sets of resettlement houses in total. As the one-off tendering project for the construction made by the municipal state-owned enterprise with self-owned land, the project is an important people’s livelihood project in the reconstruction of municipal and district shanty town. On April 20, 2015, through tender invitation, the development company was designated as the subject for the development and construction of the project. In September of the same year, it was included in the government expropriation project. Through the reconstruction of shanty town, it will greatly improve the living environment of residents in the shanty town, and it is also of important realistic significance and long-term historical significance to promote the urbanization construction in an all-around way, eliminate danger, remove potential safety hazard existing for a long time, enhance community life quality, and create comfortable living environment.

In two years, it will be rebuilt into a brand new community equipped with supporting public facilities including kindergarten, rest home, health service station, community leisure place and so on, and the living environment will get a qualitative leap and improvement. Residents involved with house dismantling and relocation are expected to be resettled, and own their new houses they have longed for.
