Recently, The Cheng’ao Building Project of BUCG won the second prize of the best practice award in the medium-sized project group in the architectural design category in the Outstanding BIM Contest of the global engineering construction industry in 2018. Jointly sponsored by Autodesk, HP, Construction Dive and Smart Cities Dive, this award is one of the BIM design and application contests with the greatest influence internationally. This award is another international award obtained by Cheng’ao Building after winning the second prize of BIM application of the engineering full life-cycle period in the National Innovation Cup BIM Contest in 2018, which is a symbol that BIM application technology has made a figure internationally.
Beijing Cheng’ao Real Estate Co., Ltd. sponsored the application of BIM technology of Cheng’ao full life-cycle period, in which the design unit, the construction unit and the later-stage operation & maintenance unit participated. It ran through three stages including design, construction, operation and maintenance. In order to guarantee the implementation of technical applications, the application of BIM technology in the full life cycle of Cheng’ao Building was specified when the project was initiated. The company specially set up a BIM leading group, in which the company leaders took the lead directly, and mobilized all the resources of various construction parties to greatly promote the implementation of the application of BIM technology in the Cheng’ao Building Project, set up a BIM studio to be responsible for overall coordination, and guarantee the breadth and depth of BIM application.
Depending on the application of BIM technology, the design of non-linear complicated architecture was achieved, specialized deepening was improved, which greatly shortened the design cycle, improved the accuracy of professional design, greatly reduced financial cost of enterprises, and promoted the construction management and control level. At present, Cheng’ao Building has successively won multiple awards including the gold award of China steel structure, the gold award of the Great Wall Cup in Beijing, etc. All of this has demonstrated the achievements of the application of BIM technology.
Meanwhile, Cheng’ao Building has extended the application of BIM technology to the stage for operation and maintenance. In the implementation process of the project, in terms of the establishment of the intelligent operation and maintenance platform, Cheng’ao Building will realize intelligent operation and maintenance management in real sense. With continuously improved quality and the profit-making level of the building, it will become a regional landmark building which lives up to expectations.
