The commencement ceremony of the Ethiopia DebarkSalima Highway Project was held

On January 26, 2019, the commencement ceremony of the Ethiopia Debark-Salima Highway Project of BUCG was held at the K13 project camping ground.

The ceremony was held according to local customs, in which the local religious bishop and key personnel held the blessing ceremony for the project, the town chief of the village and the town concerned gave an introduction to local common people in terms of the huge contributions that the highway would make to local economic development and common people along the line. Since local villagers had looked forward to this highway for two or three decades, the formal commencement of the project inspired them much. They all expressed their expectation about the construction of the highway, their trust on BUCG, and their support for work implemented by the Project Department. The Project Department undertook to fulfill the project as scheduled with high standard and high quality.

The Debark-Salima Highway Project is the first project of BUCG in Ethiopia. The project starts from Debark Town located in the place approximately 800km from the north part of the capital city Addis Ababa, approximately 100km from Gondar, and ends in Zerama Town. The total length of the preliminary design route is approximately 68.6km, and the construction period will last for four years.
