At 10:00am on February 23 (local time), the commencement ceremony of the Ethiopia Morka-Gircha-Chencha Highway Project (hereinafter referred to as the MGC Highway Project) was held in Chench Town. More than 300 persons including Deputy Party Secretary of BUCG International & Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection Shi Yuguang, governor of the South State of Ethiopia & director of the Highway Bureau Habtamu Tegegne, director of South Bureau Dejene and local government officials, Deputy General Manager of African Region Department He Zhiqiang, Project Manager of the Ethiopia Debark Highway Project Li Jin and personnel from more than ten local media attended the commencement ceremony.

The director of the Ethiopia Highway Bureau Habtamu Tegegne delivered a speech at the commencement ceremony, in which he showed gratitude to BUCG and extended a warm welcome to BUCG coming to Ethiopia for highway construction aid, affirmed the comprehensive ability of BUCG in engineering construction, road & bridge construction, etc. and said that the project would solve actual problem about travel for local residents.

Deputy Party Secretary of BUCG International & Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection Shi Yuguang delivered a speech at the commencement ceremony on behalf of BUCG and accepted an interview made by the local mainstream media. He gave an introduction to the basic information about BUCG, undertook to perform the agreement in strict accordance with the contract, actively fulfill social responsibilities, complete the MGC highway project well, make contributions to the construction and development of infrastructure in Ethiopia with professional ability of BUCG, and establish profound friendship with people in Ethiopia.

The guests present at the ceremony laid a foundation for the MGC highway project, symbolizing the overall commencement of the third highway project undertaken by BUCG in Ethiopia. With the length of 73km, the MGC highway project starts from Morka Town located along the DSS highway project line, and ends in Chencha Town, and the construction period will last for 42 months.
