In order to promote the deep cultural exchange and cooperation between China and Algeria and improve the technical strength of the Alger Opera House, the "2019 Technical Assistance Management Seminar for the Alger Opera House" (hereinafter referred to as the Seminar), sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and organized by the International Division of BUCG, was kicked off in the Central Academy of Cultural and Tourism Administration in Beijing. 13 participants including SAOUDI Noureddine, Manager of the Alger Opera House, the Ministry of Culture of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, HAMDANE Malika, Director of the Office of the Ministry of Culture of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, and OUREDANE Mohamed, Project Director of the Large Projects Agency of the Ministry of Culture of the Ministry of Culture of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, went to China to participate in the Seminar.
Wang Li, Secretary of the Party Committee of the International Division of BUCG, showed them around the exhibition hall of BUCG and extended a warm welcome to SAOUDI Noureddine and his counterparts to visit BUCG. Wang Li gave an introduction to the project performance and excellent cases of BUCG and exchanged his views with them. Through exchanges, the two sides deepened their understanding and provided a powerful assistance to BUCG in the deep exploration of Algerian market.
In the training courses, Professor Ma Shuzhi of The Central Academy of Drama, Du Siliang with the Experimental Center of the Central Academy of Drama, Xiong Ying, Editor-in-Chief of Entertainment Technology, Xu Qi, Deputy Director of the Stage Technology Department of the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Multimedia Director Zhu Yaoyu, Liu Jianzhen, Director of the Stage Technology Department of Guangzhou Opera House, Wu Sheng, former Chief Engineer of Beijing Poly Theatre Management Engineering Co., Ltd., Liu Zhiyong with the Central Academy of Drama, etc., gave the participants detailed lectures on various theater case practices, work related to theaters' sound systems, Chinese performing arts equipment development and performing arts venue construction and application, security, prevention and control during the theater performance and management, operation and maintenance management of theater stage machinery, multimedia video system, lighting system, general equipment, etc. and exchanged views over the questions concerning the participants. The frequent interaction between participants and lecturers and the warm classroom atmosphere produced good training effect.
After class, the trainees were organized to visit Tianqiao Performing Arts Center, National Centre for the Performing Arts, Poly Theatre, The Central Academy of Drama, etc.
Through two weeks of training, the trainees have had a general understanding of the theater operation and management, stage equipment and safety related standards, and the use, operation, maintenance and management practices of stage sound, lighting, stage machinery, general equipment, etc., effectively improving the stage technology level.
Yang Shengyan, Director of the West Asia and North Africa Division of the Agency for International Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce, and Ding Li, Deputy General Manager of the International Division of BUCG attended the closing ceremony. At the closing ceremony, the representatives of lecturers and trainees shared their experience, and Director Yang and General Manager Ding conferred a certificate of completion upon the students.
The Alger Opera House is a Chinese aid project in Algeria, which was completed in 2016. The Alger Opera House Technical Assistance Project will last for two years from July 2018. The Seminar was highly valued by the Ministry of Culture of Algeria and the Ministry of Commerce of China. With a great success, the Seminar has greatly improved the ability and level of the stage technology managers of the Alger Opera House, promoting the friendship and cultural exchange between Algeria and China.
