On May 20, 2019, BUCG won the bid for the Kinshasa Central African National Culture and Art Center project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo with a winning bid of 519 million yuan. The project is scheduled to start on August 28, 2019 and has a construction period of 30 months.

Located in the town of Kasa-Vubu, Kinshasa, the project includes two parts: a cultural center and a national art school, as well as ancillary facilities such as guard rooms, reception rooms, plazas, roads, parking lots, and enclosures. The project covers about 37,008.44 square meters, including a 2,000-seat grand theatre, a small 800-seat theater and a campus of national art school with a capacity of 2,000 students.  

The project is a full-discipline, system-wide, and fully functional cultural and art center - full-discipline construction project group, which is complex and difficult to coordinate. The project will deal with the local natural environment with high temperature, damp heat, heavy rain all year round, shortage of construction materials, tight construction period, difficult organization, etc., accomplish the construction tasks and build a foreign aid project model.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo, as the second largest country in Africa, is full of opportunities and challenges. The project of the Kinshasa Central African National Culture and Art Center of the Democratic Republic of the Congo is located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, but radiates the entire Africa, which symbolizes the China-Congo friendship and the China-Africa friendship and will provide an important opportunity for BUCG to enter the Democratic Republic of the Congo and extend its businesses in the African region. Also, the project is also a testimony to the continued efforts of BUCG in the field of foreign aid and the successful replication of the foreign aid bidding organization and the continuous application of advantages, which indicates that a new grand theater will be completed by BUCG in Africa following the project of the Alger Opera House.
