Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, The foundation was officially laid at 16:30 p.m. local time on October 15, the south side of the People’s Palace was filled with people. More than 400 people attended the ceremony, Personnel are as follows: Mr Tshisekedi, the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Prime Minister, Minister and other politicians of International Cooperation and Regional Integration, Dean of National Art Institute, the People’s Republic of China Embassy in Congo Tu Wentao agents, Secretary of Business and Office Liu Pinming, General Manager Assistant of BUCG International & Africa Department General Manager Liu Hui, technical team for the construction of the China-aided Congo (Kinshasa) African National Cultural and Art Center, and dozens of local media, etc..

With President Tshisekedi personally lifting the shovel and plastering and placing the auspicious stone, the construction of a large cultural and art center project symbolized the friendship between China and Congo and even between China and Africa was officially launched, marking the official arrival of BUCG into a new country in Africa and a new situation in the international business.

In his address, Mr Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo thanked BUCG and welcomed the group to the Congo (DRC) for its assistance in construction. He affirmed the group’s comprehensive capacity in large-scale public construction, and hoped that both sides could work together to do the project well. He also hoped to carry out more cooperation with BUCG in Congo (DRC).

Tu Wentao, the agent of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, said the aid for national culture and art center project of Congo (DRC) is just the witness of the friendship, the Chinese government attaches great importance to it. Since the 1961 years the establishment of diplomatic ties, multiple projects of the DRC assisted by China are in good operation, the BUCG, as a large state-owned enterprise in the capital, China. BUCG has built many influential large construction works in the African region, is capable of high quality and efficiency to complete the construction task.

Liu Hui introduced the basic situation of BUCG to President Tshisekedi, and said they will in strict accordance with the contract, actively fulfill the social responsibility, finish the national culture and art center project well, through the professional ability of BUCG, learn from  the outstanding experience of the opera house project in Algeria that won Luban Prize, in combination with local characteristics, contributes to cultural and artistic construction of Congo (DRC), and establish a profound friendship with the people of Congo (DRC).

 It is understood that the project is located in Casaboub town, Kinshasa City. Although it is located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the radiation area is the whole of central Africa, including two parts, which are the cultural center and the national art institute, as well as the gatehouse, reception room, square, road, parking lot, wall and other ancillary facilities. The construction will cover an area of 37,008.44 square meters, including a 2,000-seat grand theatre, an 800-seat small theatre and a campus for 2,000 students.

After winning the bid, the International Business Department timely organized a project management team with rich management experience to go to the Democratic Republic of the Congo to make all the preparations before the project starting. The project will overcome the local natural environment of high temperature, humidity and perennial rain, as well as the shortage of construction materials and resources, the great pressure of construction period, the difficulty of organization and other difficulties, and successfully complete the construction task on schedule to build a model project for foreign aid. At present, the project has been fully prepared for the commencement of work. The commencement ceremony marks that the construction of the cultural and arts center project has entered a new stage.
