A grand delivery ceremony was held for the maintenance project of China-aided Benin Conference Building contracted to build by BUCG on January 14, which attracted more than 100 participants including Peng Jingtao, the Chinese Ambassador to Benin, Zhang Bohui, the Counsellor of Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy, Aurelien Agbenonci, the Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Benin, Josette A.Akoha, the Representative of Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, Pinto, the Project Coordinator of Ministry of Environment, representatives of China-funded enterprises in Benin and journalists from local media.

Witnessed by all guests, Zhang Bohui, the Counsellor of Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy, and Pinto, the Project Coordinator of Ministry of Environment of Benin, jointly signed the Delivery Certificate.

The Ambassador Peng Jingtao firstly expressed his thanks for the efforts and contributions made by BUCG and also expressed his thanks for the strong support from the site committee of Benin in his speech. He pointed out that the completion and operation of Benin Conference Building marks a new stage of cooperation between China and Benin, which is of great significance.

Aurelien Agbenonci, the Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Benin, highly praised the work efficiency and achievements of BUCG. He said in his speech that the achievements made by the cooperation between China and Benin are widely recognized by the public, and expressed his thanks for the non-reimbursable assistance from China and his expectation for further exchange and cooperation between China and Benin in more fields.

Finally, the guests visited the venues such as multi-functional hall and red hall of the conference building and listened to the detailed introduction. All guests highly praised the construction quality and speed of BUCG.

Started to be built on December 19, 2017 and completed and accepted on June 19, 2019, the maintenance project of China-aided Benin Conference Building is the local landmark building. The successful delivery not only reflects the profound friendship between China and Benin, but also has established a good international image for BUCG.
