On June 30, local time, the kick-off ceremony of the project of China-aided National Football Stadium of Republic of Belarus was held, with Nikolai Snopkov, the first Deputy Prime Minister of Republic of Belarus, Cui Qiming, the Chinese Ambassador to Republic of Belarus, the Minister of Sports and Tourism of Republic of Belarus, the Vice Chairman of the Minsk Executive Committee and the representatives of frontier management team of the project from BUCG attended the ceremony.
Snopkov said in his speech that China and Belarus have shown the spirit of unity to the world in the face of COVID-19. As the development in China has entered a new historic stage, Belarus is willing to work together with China to implement the instructions issued by the leaders of the two countries. The construction of this project will greatly enhance the unity and friendship between the two peoples and show China's economic and technological strength to the world.
The Ambassador Cui Qiming said in his speech that China and Belarus are good partners and friends who trust each other, and the completion of the project will further promote the development of sports in Belarus and bring benefits to the general public. It is believed that China and Belarus will actively implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, jointly overcome the difficulties caused by the epidemic and make contributions to the “Belt and Road” Initiative while jointly carrying forward the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind and jointly building a bridge of friendship between China and Belarus.
The project of National Football Stadium of Republic of Belarus undertaken by BUCG covers a building area of 48,000m2 and can contain 33,000 audiences. As the design and construction of the football stadium conform to the technical standards stipulated by FIFA and UEFA, the stadium after completion will be available to host large-scale events such as the European Football Championship and FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup.
