As the “One Belt and One Road” initiative was put forward, China and Maldives have made deep cooperation in multiple fields, and BUCG has also participated in the infrastructure construction of Maldives. The renovation and extension project of Maldives Velana International Airport undertaken by BUCG has been signed officially since 2014. In the following 6 years, the Maldives airport project has shown the speed and quality of “made in china” by powerful strength of Beijing state-owned enterprises, and obtained extensive praise from owners. For this, BUCG undertook the projects of the seaplane airport terminal and VIP building, the office of Ministry of National Defense, apartment block, feeder airport, and so on successively in Maldives, negotiated with Maldives for the development of the airport economic zone, innovated overseas investment modes. BUCG is expected to carry out projects in Maldives, and it will output “the first best standard” in the new modes of “Beijing+” and “state-owned enterprises+” in a wider field and a higher level, to achieve industrial coordination and win-win cooperation.
