On January 24 (local time), at the signing ceremony of the Kota Semarang Liangyou Expressway Project in Indonesia, BUCG and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Indonesia signed the signed the contract agreement for bid section 1A of Semarang-Demark Expressway Project in Indonesia. Basuki·Hadimuljono, Minister of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Indonesia and Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of the Ministry of Economic Coordination attended the signing ceremony and delivered speeches.

Basuki said in his speech that the Indonesian government attaches great importance to the construction of infrastructure and all walks of life give high expectations for the implementation of the Kota Semarang-Demark toll Expressway Project. He hoped that BUCG could give full play to the construction strength of Chinese enterprises and create high-quality projects with the best construction quality and progress to bring benefit to the local people.

The bid section 1A of Semarang-Demark Expressway Project in Indonesia is about 3.7km long, which mainly involves viaduct in shallow sea area, renovation of existing bridges, road construction, etc. The project is not only a key project of China’s “The Belt and Road” Initiative, but also a strategic project of Indonesia’s concept of “Global Marine Fulcrum”. The completion of the project is of great significance to the improvement of the local transportation network, the development of local industry and handicraft industry, and the solution of local employment.
