Completion The Prime Ministers of China and Pakistan attended the ceremony

      On October 14, 2024, local time, Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz jointly attended the completion ceremony of the New Gwadar International Airport Project at the Prime Minister's Office in Pakistan. The New Gwadar International Airport is one of the flagship projects under the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, possessing both political and economic significance. The project is strategically located along the Belt and Road Initiative, situated 26 kilometers northeast of Gwadar City in Balochistan Province, Pakistan. Covering an area of approximately 18 square kilometers, the airport is classified as a 4F-level airfield. Future projections indicate that by 2060, the airport will accommodate an annual passenger throughput of 1 million and meet a transportation capacity of 30,000 tons for cargo and mail. The terminal building of the New Gwadar International Airport has a total construction area of approximately 14,000 square meters, with the roof's steel structure covering about 10,000 square meters. It features a steel frame structure topped with continuously welded stainless steel roofing, utilizing wind tunnel tests and wind uplift resistance tests to ensure that it meets the service requirements under complex structures and extremely high design wind pressures. The design of passenger flow utilizes a separation scheme for international and domestic passenger departures/arrivals. The airport features signage in three languages: Chinese, Urdu, and English, allowing for quick and efficient navigation for passengers. The entire terminal area is equipped with LED lighting, which offers significant improvements in both illumination levels and energy efficiency compared to conventional lighting fixtures. The terminal building is equipped with an intelligent lighting system that allows for control of over 1,000 lighting fixtures in public areas through backend software. This system enables zoned, scene-based, and circuit-based control and brightness adjustment, allowing precise regulation of each fixture's illuminance and switching mode. Additionally, the lighting fixtures can automatically turn on and off according to preset programs, enhancing the smart, green, and modern attributes of the terminal building.
