The Signing Ceremony of Maputo Gas Pipeline Transmission and Distribution Project Business Contract held in Beijing Urban Construction Building

On Oct. 26th, Mr. Li Daosong, General Manager of Overseas Business Department signed Maputo Gas Pipeline Transmission and Distribution Project Business Contract with Mr. Nelson, President of Mozambique National Gas Company in Beijing Urban Construction Building. Mr. Xu Jianyun, General Manager of BUCG, Mr. Li Zhengchang, Vice-general Manager of BUCG, Mr. Santos, CEO of Mozambique State-owned Committee, Mr. Jiang Hua, Party Branch Secretary of Overseas Business Department, and Ms. Ding Li, Vice-manager of Overseas Business Department attended this signing ceremony.

This gas transmission and distribution project values $ 280 million approximately, and is divided into two phases, for commercial and civil use in sequence. Mozambique will bid farewell to importing foreign oil era and use its domestic natural gas after the completion of this project. Thus energy consumption outcome would be greatly reduced. The main construction project includes: high pressure gas pipeline in the first phase which consists of 11.3km high-pressure gas pipeline, 12.11km intermediate-pressure gas pipeline, 17km medium-pressure gas pipeline, one regulator station, SCADA dispatching center system and some associated ancillary works; high pressure gas pipeline in the second phase which consists of 68km high-pressure gas pipeline. Our Group will takes charge of the whole contracting in reconnaissance and design, equipment procurement, pipeline construction, and construction, debugging and commissioning operation of regulator station and some associated ancillary works.

In the signing ceremony, President Nelson said he admired BUCG’s glorious history and business development capability after visiting the exhibition center, and especially praised BUCG as a great and trustworthy enterprise group after seeing its great achievement in Beijing Olympic Construction Project. As both state-owned Mozambique Energy Company and BUCG are, the signing of this project is the beginning of the alliance and will lead to more joint projects. Mr. Xu Jianyun, General Manager of BUCG, said he was pleased that BUCG signed contract again to undertake the gas pipeline transmission and distribution project after the Agricultural Processing Factory Project which has already been implemented in Mozambique, and got the chance to continuously serve Mozambican people. With comprehensive proven technology and experience in subway construction, municipal infrastructure, airport construction, BUCG hopes to cooperate with Mozambique in a wider area, and expand bigger market. He also emphasized that BUCG would muster elite to formulate efficient construction and management team to well organize and scientific construct, to ensure quality, safety and duration of this project.
