Local time on July 25 at 9:30 am, the Maldives airport expansion project 

reclamation works was officially launched. Maldivian President Yamin attended 

the launching ceremony, accompanied by some of the cabinet members. There 

are around 200 people in total witnessed the launch of the reclamation, also 

including Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives, Mr. Wang Fukang, the Chinese 

Commercial Counselor, the Project Manager, Zhang Fenglin, the Deputy 

Manager, Wang Xiaoyin and the project staff, and other participants.
