On June 26, local time, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed a document to award Chinese companies involved in the construction of the China-aided National Football Stadium in Belarus. BUCG, as the general contractor for the project, received the commendation.
The National Football Stadium in Belarus is a key project under the China-Belarus joint efforts in the Belt and Road Initiative, and it is an important cooperation project personally promoted and supported by the heads of both countries. The venue has a floor area of 48,000 square meters and 33,145 spectator seats. It is currently the largest and highest-standard professional football stadium in Belarus, capable of hosting international events such as World Cup qualification, UEFA Euro qualifying, and the UEFA Champions League.
The handover certificate between the governments of China and Belarus for the project was officially signed on March 21, 2025, and a grand opening ceremony and a friendly match between the Chinese and Belarusian national youth football teams were held on June 7, marking the official opening of the stadium. After the stadium was officially put into operation, a friendly match between the Belarusian national team and the Russian national team was successfully hosted, and the Belarusian Football Championship was undertaken, which fully tested the venue's excellent facilities and first-class operational support capabilities.
