
Mr. Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, General Manager of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), led a delegation to visit Beijing Urban Construction Group (BUCG). The delegation first toured BUCG's Exhibition Center, followed by in-depth talks with the Group's International Business Division team.
Luo Wei first extended a warm welcome to Mr. Shareef's visit. He reviewed the Group's business development in the Maldives and its project cooperation with MACL, expressing sincere gratitude for the care, trust, and support bestowed by Mr. Shareef and MACL. Luo noted that with the support of the Maldivian government and MACL, BUCG has completed several important engineering projects, including the Velana International Airport renovation and expansion project and the seaplane terminal building project over the past decade, winning wide recognition and praise from all walks of life in the Maldives. Luo mentioned that in 2024, BUCG successfully assisted in the financing of the Velana International Airport's old runway renovation project, which is now under steady construction. After completion, it will greatly improve the operational efficiency of Maldives Velana International Airport and boost the rapid development of Maldives' aviation and tourism industry. In the future, BUCG will leverage its rich engineering construction experience and full industrial chain advantages to actively carry out all-around cooperation with MACL, advance project progress steadily, and continue contributing to the development of the Maldives' civil aviation, tourism, and local economic and social growth.
Mr. Ibrahim Shareef Mohammed highly recognized the Group's development history and outstanding achievements at home and abroad, and highly appreciated the development achievements made by BUCG in the Maldives over the past decade. He expressed gratitude for BUCG's high-quality and efficient delivery of multiple MACL projects. Noting the Maldives' stable economic and social development, booming tourism market demand, and promising prospects for civil aviation and tourism, Mr. Shareef stated that MACL values BUCG's long-standing reputation, strong engineering capabilities, and abundant industrial resources. He expressed hope that BUCG will further leverage its strengths and actively participate in more MACL project constructions.
During the talks, both parties discussed specific cooperation opportunities for multiple projects and reached a consensus on deepening mutual understanding and expanding cooperation horizons.
