Recently, an "inflatable castle" has quietly risen at the busy southern end of Qianmen Street. The Qianmen Street Plot G10 Project has adopted foundation pit air dome technology to install an "ecological mask" over the construction site. This innovative solution effectively addresses challenges, including construction dust, noise, safety risks, and the protection of historical block features, enabling smooth project progress amid densely populated residential areas and numerous historic buildings.
In recent years, the Group has actively responded to the call of Beijing and continued to promote the innovative development of green construction. To achieve dust control, noise reduction, and continuous construction in rainy and snowy weather, the Group has vigorously promoted the application of foundation pit air dome technology in environmentally sensitive urban areas. At present, 6 projects of the Group have applied the foundation pit air dome technology, with another 3 currently in use. A series of "smart ecological shields" uses a fully enclosed green construction mode to put on "ecological protective clothing" for engineering construction and support green and efficient construction.
As a green construction method integrating dust prevention, noise reduction, energy saving, and intelligence, the foundation pit air dome technology solves the core conflict between construction and environmental protection from the source by building a fully enclosed working environment. It can not only withstand bad weather to ensure construction continuity, but also achieve efficient and low-carbon operations through intelligent regulation and control. It is especially suitable for scenarios with high requirements for environmental control, such as core areas and residential areas.

The Qianmen Street G10 plot project constructed by the Group's Civil Engineering Department is located in the core area of Qianmen Street, surrounded by numerous historical buildings and dense residential areas. It is only 2 meters away from the nearest point of Qianmen Street and has extremely high environmental protection requirements. As the first project in Dongcheng District to adopt an air-ribbed foundation pit air dome, the structure features a "modular quick-installation and large span column-free" design. It is 16 meters high and has a single span of more than 20 meters. It can be installed and put into use in 7 days. Compared with traditional membrane structures, it shortens the construction period by more than 60%. It can effectively block more than 98% of construction dust and reduce construction noise by 25–30 decibels. While ensuring the working space for large equipment, it protects the historic block's features and the surrounding residents' livelihoods to the greatest extent.

The overall upgrade and renovation project of Wangfujing Foreign Languages Bookstore, constructed by the Beijing Urban Construction Eighth Construction Development Co., Ltd., is located in the core business district of Wangfujing. Faced with the conflict between basement demolition, earthwork construction, and commercial-tourism environment maintenance, the project adopts a special-shaped foundation pit air dome solution to effectively solve the construction problems. It blocks dust and noise interference from the source, ensures all-weather construction against severe weather, builds a solid green barrier for efficient project progress in the core area, and realizes the benign coexistence of construction and regional business formats.

The 7-1# Nursing Home Project of Wangtan Shantytown Reconstruction Project, constructed by the construction company, uses China's first foundation pit air dome with active water circulation cooling. Through the combined system of "top exhaust, wet curtain cooling, and heat insulation net", the temperature inside the dome tends to be comfortable in summer, effectively ensuring the safety and occupational health of the construction workers inside the dome. With the intelligent monitoring system, the noise is reduced by more than 90% and the construction period is shortened by about 30%, providing an "environmentally friendly" innovative model for construction in the capital's core area.
Previously, the Beiyuan Jiayuan Project in Tongzhou District, the Baohuali No. 1 Plot Project in Dongcheng District, and the Datun 0205-659 (1# Hotel) Project in Chaoyang District constructed by the Beijing Urban Construction Eighth Construction Development Co., Ltd., also adopted foundation pit air dome technology to resolve the problems of high environmental protection and noise reduction requirements for construction close to residential buildings and limited construction sites.
While carrying out exploring practices, the Group actively assumes industry responsibilities. As the chief participating entity, it has participated in compiling the Technical Guidelines for Foundation Pit Air Domes in Beijing's Building and Municipal Infrastructure Projects, promoting the standardization and normalization of foundation pit air domes.
The successful practice of the 6 benchmark projects demonstrates the Group's determination to implement green development and provides a practical reference for the green and low-carbon transformation of the construction industry. The group will continue to focus on green construction and environmental protection, enhancing the "green content" of its high-quality development.
