Recently, a delegation led by Emile ZERBO, Minister of the Ministry of Land Administration and Transport of Burkina Faso, along with the Governor of Bobo-Dioulasso, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Land Administration and Transport and Chairman of the Airport Company, the General Manager of the Airport Company (SAFA), and the Deputy President of Vista Bank, conducted an on-site inspection of the terminal building and ancillary infrastructure construction project at Bobo-Dioulasso International Airport in Burkina Faso. Sun He, Deputy General Manager of the Africa Regional Department of the International Business Division, and Li Zheng, Project Manager, accompanied the group and provided explanations. Following the inspection, Minister Emile ZERBO expressed satisfaction with the project’s current work safety, technical quality, and physical construction progress, and called for continued increases in resource allocation to ensure the project is completed on schedule.

Construction of the main structure of the current terminal building is approximately 46% complete, and work on the secondary structure, curtain wall installation, and mechanical and electrical installation has entered the construction preparation phase. Once the project is completed and put into operation, it will further improve the integrated transportation system in western Burkina Faso, enhance Bobo-Dioulasso’s external transportation and regional radiation capacity, and strengthen its overall carrying capacity as a regional economic center and transportation hub. At the same time, the completion of the project will further deepen cooperation between China and Burkina Faso in the field of infrastructure development, contribute to local economic and social development through high-quality engineering construction achievements, and help promote regional connectivity, improve people’s livelihoods, and advance the high-quality development of the “Belt and Road” initiative.
